William Michael “Mike” Neely, a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished grandfather, passed away on November 21, 2025, at the age of 86. He was born on July 10, 1939, in Silver Hill, West Virginia, and carried a deep pride for his roots throughout his life.
A proud veteran of the United States Army, Mike served his country with honor, embodying the values of duty and service. His commitment to his nation was matched only by his dedication to his family. He was a beloved husband to Anita W. Neely for 34 wonderful years, with whom he shared countless memories and experiences.
Mike was the proud father of two sons, Mick Neely (Beth) and Jeff Neely (Val), and was a remarkable grandfather to six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. His family was his greatest joy, and he delighted in every moment spent with them, celebrating milestones and creating lasting memories.
Known for his love of nature, he had a passion for raising horses and enjoyed riding them often. His affinity for the outdoors extended to gardening, where he cultivated not only plants but also a sense of tranquility.
He is remembered fondly by many, including several nieces and nephews who looked up to him with admiration. His kindness and wisdom left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Mike joins his beloved daughter, Leisa Abrams; his parents, Andrew and Ila Naomi Smith Neely; and his brothers, Johnny Neely (Shirley), Ted Neely, and Colvert Neely, in eternal rest.
As we reflect on the life of William Michael Neely, we celebrate a man who lived fully, loved deeply, and gave generously to those around him. His memory will forever remain etched in the hearts of his family and friends.
