Tom was born on May 6, 1948, in Memphis, Tennessee, to Tom and Ruby Crain. He was raised in Wilson, Arkansas, where he developed the strong character and caring spirit that would define his life.

He attended Mississippi State University and later completed his education at Hendrix Physical Therapy School in Arkansas. Tom began his career as a physical therapist at Methodist Hospital in Memphis. He went on to serve as head of the Physical Therapy Department at St. Joseph’s Hospital before moving to Tallassee, where he became Director of Physical Therapy at Tallassee Community Hospital. Tom was an active member of First Methodist Church in Tallassee, where he taught Sunday School and served on numerous church committees. He was a familiar and cherished presence on the sidelines at Tallassee High School football games, where he volunteered his time evaluating injuries and supporting the team as one of its most devoted fans.

A passionate supporter of Mississippi State athletics, Tom attended as many games as he could, always bringing his positive attitude and enthusiasm. He found great joy in fishing and hunting, and even greater joy in helping others- whether through his profession, athletics, or simply lending a hand to someone in need.

Tom served on numerous advisory boards, including the Community Hospital Board of Directors and the Blue Cross Blue Shield Advisory Board.

Tom had a profound impact on his family, especially his grandchildren, and on everyone fortunate enough to know him. His kindness, generosity, and unwavering willingness to serve others will be remembered always.
