Susan Melissa Braswell, a cherished soul and beloved member of the Tallassee community, departed this earthly realm on February 19, 2026. Born on July 14, 1948, she spent her formative years in the embrace of her hometown, fostered by a nurturing environment created by her parents, Chapman Moore and Sabra Eloise Elliott Wiggins.

An industrious spirit, Susan's career spanned a variety of fields, culminating in her retirement from Neptune Technology Group. Her adeptness in sales was showcased in her role as Sales Manager for an insurance company, where her passion for helping others shone brightly. Susan's dedication and professionalism earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues and clients alike.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Susan was a woman of warmth and kindness. Her personality resonated with those around her, epitomized by her love for cooking and her affectionate bond with animals, especially her cherished furry companions, Peanut and Winston. This love for animals mirrored her nurturing essence, fostering relationships that transcended the bounds of ordinary companionship.

Susan leaves behind her adoring son, Jonathan Braswell, whose life is a testament to her loving guidance and support. She is also survived by her sister, Amy Thrower, and her brother, Michael Wiggins, whose lives have been profoundly enriched by her presence. Additionally, she is remembered fondly by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who all carry the light of her spirit within them.

Susan is preceded in death by her parents, Chapman and Sabra Elliott Wiggins, as well as her brothers, Steve Wiggins and Tim Wiggins.

Though Susan is no longer with us, she will be honored in a heartfelt ceremony held at Jeffcoat Funeral Home in Tallassee, Alabama. The visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on February 24, 2026, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM, officiated by Rev. Jay Woodall. Her final journey will take place at Rose Hill Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest, surrounded by the beauty of nature she so adored.

Susan Melissa Braswell will be remembered not only for her myriad contributions to her family and community but also for the profound love she shared with all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy will remain etched in the hearts of many, a gentle and enduring presence that embodies the very essence of compassion and love.
