Steve was a talented musician who started playing in bands as a young teenager. He worked at the family-owned radio station and was a programming pioneer in making WTLS the first all-country formatted station in Central Alabama in 1970. He was the host of “Music Makers,” recording over 200 shows.
He also served in the Alabama National Guard for two decades. Much of his service time included work as a recruiter up until his retirement.
Steve greeted all he met with a smile. His sense of humor drew innumerable laughs. He will be greatly missed but fondly remembered.
