Shelley Ann Mitchell, born on October 10, 1982, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2026. Shelley's untimely departure has left a profound void in the hearts of all who knew and cherished her.

Shelley’s life was marked by her unwavering love for her family, her strength in the face of adversity, and a generosity that touched all who crossed her path. She was a loving mother to three daughters: Katelyn Mitchell, Kathryn Bates, and Amber Mitchell, who will continue to carry forward her legacy of kindness and resilience. Shelley shared a close bond with her sister, Donna Willis, whose companionship over the years was a source of great joy and comfort. Her presence will be dearly missed by her special mother, Rhonda Whorton; by her uncle, Danny Dickey; her special aunt and uncle, Darlene and Mark Bates; and by a large extended family including many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. Shelley’s beloved companion Biscuit was a constant source of warmth and happiness in her daily life.

Shelley faced the loss of several dear family members over the years, cherishing the memory of her late mother, Nadia Hughes; her sons, Joseph and Jacob Mitchell; and her grandmother, Opal "Granny Opal" Aldridge. Though gone, their memories remained cornerstones in Shelley’s heart and stories.

Throughout her life, Shelley was known for her gentle spirit, endless compassion and love for art and cooking. Whether supporting her loved ones through life’s hurdles or celebrating their triumphs, she was always a steadfast source of love and encouragement. Friends and family recall her laughter, wisdom, and the unwavering support she offered in every phase of life.

The family will receive friends Saturday, July 18, 2026, from 10:00AM until service time at 11:00AM at Jeffcoat Funeral Home Chapel, Tallassee, Alabama. It will be a time for family and friends to gather, share memories, and pay tribute to a woman whose selflessness and warmth will forever live in their hearts.

Shelley Ann Mitchell will be remembered always for her resolute devotion, the strength of her spirit, and the love she brought to all whose lives she touched. Those who knew her will carry her memory forward with grace and affection.
