Robert Christopher “Chris” Davis, born December 26, 1972, in Tallassee, Alabama, passed away on October 2, 2026. He will be remembered with love for his intelligence, determination, and the many quiet joys that shaped his life.

Chris graduated from Tallassee High School and received his first degree in auto paint and body from Opelika State Technical College before losing his vision at the age of twenty-eight. He later continued his education at Capella and Phoenix Universities. He held a master’s degree and was one year away from earning his doctorate degree, reflecting his deep commitment to learning and personal achievement. In his professional life, he was a psychologist and also worked for the blind, bringing both understanding and purpose to the work he did.

He had a love for plants and flowers and a remarkable gift for helping things grow, something that was especially admired by those who knew him. His love for music led to a passion for collecting all types of guitars. He was also devoted to his cats, Stormy and Buddy, who were a cherished part of his daily life. Chris enjoyed cheering for the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Baltimore Ravens, and those familiar pleasures added to the warmth and personality he brought to those around him.

Chris leaves behind a family who will carry his memory forward with affection. He is survived by his son, Austin Davis; father, Robert Davis (Joyce); sister, Anna Davis Travis; brothers, Kenny Taylor (Cassie), and William Scott Davis; nieces, Kayla Milner, Brooklyn Milner Cox (Stewart), and Sydney Travis Hipsher (Aaron); nephews, Tyler Frank (Maecyn) and Ashton Taylor. He is also survived by his grand-nieces and grand-nephews, including Hollis Hipsher, Olivia Ingram, and Mayzie Ingram, along with other relatives and loved ones who treasured him.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Donna Robertson Taylor, and his stepfather, Glenn.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 10, 2026, at 10:00AM at Jeffcoat Funeral Home Chapel, Tallassee, Alabama.

Chris’s life was marked by perseverance, learning, compassion, and the simple happiness he found in the people, pets, and pastimes he loved. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
