Jeffcoat Funeral Home 255 Friendship Road Tallassee, AL 36078 Tel (334) 283-6801 Rev. Eldridge Holt, a resident of Liberty City, Alabama, passed away Saturday, August 31, 2013, at the age of 96. Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 03, 2013, at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church, Tallassee, with Rev. Derek Gentle officiating. Burial will follow in Antioch Baptist Cemetery, Jeffcoat Funeral Home directing. Rev. Holt is survived by his daughter, Carolyn Holt Miller (Tony); grandchildren, Debbie Hornsby (Jason), Beth Nobles (Jeff) and Wade Miller (Denise); nine great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren; sister, Nadine Taunton; sister-in-law, Ruby Holt; several nieces and nephews and a host of church family at the many churches where he has served as a pastor. He is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Hixie Hood Holt and a son, Doyle Holt. Rev. Holt was a graduate of Howard College Extension, Samford University. He served as a pastor in Tallapoosa and Elmore counties for over 50 years. The family will receive friends Monday, September 02, 2013, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Jeffcoat Funeral Home.
