Mrs. Patricia Hodnett “Pat” Mann, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on September 5, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on April 24, 1946, Pat was a shining light in the lives of those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Mrs. Mann dedicated her life to her family and cherished the time spent with her loved ones. She shared a profound bond with her husband of 59 years, Tommy Mann. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support for one another. Patricia was a proud mother to Angela M. Young and her husband, John, and she took immense joy in her role as a grandmother to her granddaughter, Courtney Young.

Her close relationships also extended to her siblings. She is survived by her sister, Martha Rodriguez, and brothers, Gaines Hodnett and John Hodnett. Patricia held a special place in her heart for her several nieces and nephews, embracing each of them with affection and guidance throughout their lives.

In addition to her family, Pat is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Harold and Arlene Weitzel Hodnett, and her son, Thomas Mann, Jr., who left a void in her heart that was known only to those who understood the depth of her love and loss.

A keen and vibrant spirit, she truly excelled in various hobbies and pursuits. She was known as an expert cook and gardener, reveling in outdoor work where she nurtured the flowers that flourished under her care. Pat also possessed a remarkable green thumb, which she utilized to create beauty in her surroundings. Her love for crocheting, knitting and cross-stitching provided her with endless joy and fulfillment. In her generous spirit, she made and donated blankets to the Life Choice Pregnancy Center in Tallassee, reflecting her compassion and commitment to helping others.

Patricia also enjoyed living on Lake Martin and relished sunsets and boat rides, those moments that allowed her to embrace the tranquility and beauty of nature. She spent her childhood summers on Lake Martin with her family. Patricia had deep lake roots, her great uncle being, Toppy, the founder of Kowaliga Restaurant, and her father being the first boat salesman on Lake Martin. After moving around for Tommy’s work for years and settling for some time outside of Nashville, TN, Pat and Tommy retired to Lake Martin where they have lived for almost 30 years. The lake was part of her heart and soul, her family referring to it, as “Aunt Pat’s Lake.”

She had a deep appreciation for education, music, and football, having loved her time at Auburn University-War Eagle! Her experiences there shaped much of her character and opportunities in life.

Led by a heart of passion, Patricia was endowed with empathy and a means to do good. Those lucky enough to become a part of her life were welcomed by the boundless purity and love she shed unconditionally.

Her life will be honored Monday, September 8, 2025, with a visitation from 10:00AM until service time at 11:00AM at First Methodist Church, Tallassee. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.

Patricia Mann will be dearly missed, remembered not just for her many talents and interests but for the love, kindness, and generosity she extended to everyone around her. Her legacy will continue to live on through her family and friends who carry her memory in their hearts.
