Mrs. Wallace Walters Godwin

Jeffcoat Funeral Home 255 Friendship Road Tallassee, AL 36078 Tel (334) 283-6801 Wallace Walters Godwin, 87, passed away on March 13, 2019. She was a business owner for many years. She and her husband purchased a floral shop in Tallassee in 1971. She loved flowers, butterflies, and most of all her family. “Nannie” could always be counted on in any event or crisis involving her family. Wallace is preceded in death by her loving husband, LM Godwin and son, Ric Godwin, their deaths left behind a void in her heart that was never filled; father, Chattman Weldon Walters; mother, Mary Earle Taylor Walters; two brothers, Winford Walters and Roy Walters and two sisters, Ethel Allright and Mary “Bill” Buchanan She is survived by her son, Lamar and daughter-in-law Deborah; four grandchildren, Jana (Josh) Gurther, Lena (Jason) Gross, Brad Godwin and Garrett (Lauren) Godwin; seven great grandchildren, Tristan, McKenna and Landon Gurther, Andrew, Ryan and Sydney Gross and Nolan Godwin. She is also survived by two brothers, Mitchell (Debby) Walters and C.W. (Ruth) Walters. “Nannie” also leaves behind several nieces and nephews. The love and pride she felt for her grandchildren was evident to all. A visitation will be held Sunday, March 17, 2019, from 12:30PM until service time at 2:00PM at Jeffcoat Funeral Home, Elder Richard Pinnell officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery, Jeffcoat Funeral Home directing. Her immediate family wants to recognize two nieces, Julie Pinnell and Trish Murphy, who loved her and helped to provide great concern and care during her last months and treated her like a mother, and for that her son shall always be grateful.
