Jeffcoat Funeral Home 255 Friendship Road Tallassee, AL 36078 Tel (334) 283-6801 Mrs. Sydney “Bit” Claire Wilson, 76, a longtime resident of Wetumpka, Alabama, passed away Saturday, April 07, 2012, in Jackson Hospital after an extended illness. The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 11, 2012, from 1:30pm until 3:00pm at Good Hope Baptist Church, Eclectic, Alabama. The funeral service will follow at 3:00pm with Rev. Kenny Hill officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Tallassee, Alabama, Jeffcoat Funeral Home directing. Surviving relatives include her sister, Sue LaRossa of Navarre, Florida; sisters- in- law, Nancy Wilson, Macie Plant and Marie Peters; brother- in- law, Harvey McJunkin and many wonderful nieces and nephews who loved her very much. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lanier Wilson; parents, Charles Edwin and Stella J. Plant; sisters, Frances P. Jones, Rebecca P. McJunkin, Ruth P. Carroll; brother, Charles Edwin Plant, Jr. and nephew, Harold 'Hal' Jones. Born in Tallassee on July 11, 1935, Sydney 'Bit' was the youngest of six children. She married Lanier Wilson in October, 1956. They were never blessed with children of their own, but she was 'Aunt Bit' to all her nieces, nephews and the children of many of her dear friends. She worked for the State of Alabama in Montgomery for many years.
