Graveside Services will be Thursday, October 23, 2014, at 2:00pm at the Walker Family Cemetery, 3762 County Road 40, Milstead, Alabama, with Rev. Bart Lester and Rev. Billy Joseph officiating, Jeffcoat Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Walker is survived by her husband of 59 years, Mr. James McLemore Walker; children, James McLemore Walker, Jr., May Walker Underwood, Ophelia Tanner Walker, Nancy Walker Turman (Doug) and David Riggs Walker (Cheryl); grandchildren, Rena Underwood Brown, Macy Underwood Dickinson, George William Underwood, Walker Braxton Turman, Charles Marshall Turman, Young Lei Turman, Julia Day Turman, David Riggs Walker, Jr. and Ragan Elizabeth Walker; brother, Blucher Hamilton Cooper; sister-in-law, Isobel B. Riggs; nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Frank Willard Riggs, Jr. and Mabel Walker Riggs, step mother, Florence Cooper Riggs and her brother, Frank Willard Riggs, III. Mrs. Walker was a graduate of Sidney Lanier High School and Randolph-Macon Woman’s College in Virginia. She married Mac in 1955 in Verdun, France, where he was stationed after World War II. They later settled in Milstead, Alabama, and were active members of the community. The family will receive visitors at the family home after the service.
