Jeffcoat Funeral Home 255 Friendship Road Tallassee, AL 36078 Tel (334) 283-6801 Mrs. Shirley Morgan Moncrief, a resident of Tallassee, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2015, at the age of 80. Funeral services will be Saturday, April 25, 2015, at 6:00 pm at First Baptist Church, Tallassee, with Rev. Derek Gentle officiating, Jeffcoat Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends Saturday, April 25, from 4:30pm until service time at the church. Mrs. Moncrief is survived by her daughter, Mona M. Edmondson (Doug) and her son, Mike Moncrief; grandchildren, Lauren Edmondson Meister (Brad), Lynnsey Edmondson (fiancée, Chandler Hall), Connor Michael Moncrief and Hunter Morgan Moncrief; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Mr. Charles Earl “Buddy” Moncrief; sister, Barbara Gail Foley and brother, Willard Dean Robinson. For several years, Mrs. Moncrief taught English in the Tallassee School System and she also owned the Company Store in Tallassee. She was an avid card player, loved to travel and enjoyed reading. Momsy especially loved assisting all of her grandchildren with their grammar and manners. Mrs. Moncrief was instrumental and coordinator of numerous wedding teas and bridal showers over many years in Tallassee.
