Jeffcoat Funeral Home 255 Friendship Road Tallassee, AL 36078 Tel (334) 283-6801 Mrs. Maude L. Spain, a resident of Tallassee, Alabama, passed away Thursday, December 15, 2016, at the age of 99. Funeral Services will be Monday, December 19, 2016, at 11:00am graveside at Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham, Alabama with Rev. Derek Gentle officiating, Jeffcoat Funeral Home directing. Maude is survived by her daughter, Paula Spain Godwin (Bill); three grandchildren, Michael Edwards Owings (Shannon), Rebecca Owings Chase (Will) and Leah Owings Dillard (David); nine great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; two sisters, Magdalene Frost Lancaster and Annie Frost Gregory and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Travis Edward Spain; parents, Joshua Wesley and Jewel Mae Frost, two sisters, Julia Frost Hodges and Willie Mae Frost Meadows and her brother, Irby Woodrow Frost. Mrs. Spain was a loving mother and grandmother; she worked for 32 years as Executive Assistant to the Vice President of Southern Natural Resources in Birmingham, Alabama and was a long time member of Chapel in the Pines, Presbyterian Church in Birmingham, Alabama.
