Jeffcoat Funeral Home 255 Friendship Road Tallassee, AL 36078 Tel (334) 283-6801 Mrs. Mary Willie Godwin Phillips, a resident of Tallassee, Alabama, passed away Monday, May 13, 2013, at the age of 88. Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at 1:00pm from Jeffcoat Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Rhonda Thrower officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Jeffcoat Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Phillips is survived by her children, Mike Phillips (Fran) of Benton, Louisiana, Ann Phillips, Danny Phillips (Sandy) and Tim Phillips (Ellen) of Tallassee, Alabama, Jeff Phillips of Kent, Alabama, Vicki Holloway of Tallassee, Alabama, and Tab Phillips (Sandy) of Posey, California; 12 grandchildren and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; brother, John Godwin (Bessie) of Opelika, Alabama; sister, Margaret Parrott of Jacksonville, Florida; special brother-in-law, Ray Dinning, also of Jacksonville, Florida; several loved nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Mr. Talbert Jackson Phillips; parents, John and Irene Godwin; daughter, Laura Jean Ledbetter (Leonard); son, Pete Phillips (Colleen); sisters, Annie Laurie Melton (Ealy), Ruth Grumm (Jimmy), June Dinning and Jean McVay (Joe). Mrs. Phillips was a graduate of Tallassee High School, Class of 1943. She enjoyed working in her yard and she loved flowers. Mrs. Phillips was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.
