Funeral services will be Thursday, October 05, 2017, at 11:00AM from Our Lady of Guadalupe in Elmore with Father Alfred Kelly officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Jeffcoat Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Southern is survived by her husband Robert J. Southern; son, Robert O. Southern; mother, Dorothy Capps; brother, Sand Day; sister, Priscilla Jones (Denny) and several nieces and nephews who loved her very much. She is preceded in death by her brother, Robert Day and her grandparents. Mrs. Mary enjoyed her arts, crafts and painting. She loved her church, the Church of Guadalupe and going to the Senior Center in Tallassee to play cards and dominoes. The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 04, 2017 from 5:00PM until 7:00PM at Jeffcoat Funeral Home Chapel in Tallassee, Al.
