Derek Gentle and Dr. Jeff Redmond officiating. Burial will follow in Carrville Cemetery, Jeffcoat Funeral Home directing.Mrs. Whitaker is survived by her husband of 66 years, Mr. Curtis Wayne Whitaker, Jr.; daughters, Marilyn Jackson (Mickey) of Alexander City, Alabama, and Cheryl Keahey (Terry) of Tallassee, Alabama; son, Wayne Whitaker (Debbie) of Birmingham, Alabama; grandchildren, Philip Jackson (Amy) of Alpharetta, Georgia, Scott Jackson of Washington, D.C., Greg Gregory of Tallassee, Chris Gregory (Stephanie) of Helena, Alabama, Whit Whitaker of Tallassee, Angie Gibson (Brett) and Alison Whitten (Wes), both of Mountain Brook, Alabama; fifteen great grandchildren and one sister, June Machen (Bob) of Fulshear, Texas.She is preceded in death by her parents, Edna Lavelle Meadows and Howard ONeil Buster Carlisle and her brother, Dan Carlisle.Mrs. Whitaker was a member of First Baptist Church (Gleaners Sunday School Class), charter member of Carrville Baptist Church, member of Tirones Club and she owned and operated Carrville Super Market with her husband for 40 years.Mrs. Whitaker was very well known as being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a friend to all.The family will receive friends Thursday evening, August 04, 2011, from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at First Baptist Church, Tallassee.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, P.
