She was born in Butler Springs, Alabama, on July 19, 1922.Graveside services will be Thursday, May 12, 2011, at 11:00am from Rose Hill Cemetery with Rev. Isaac Kervin officiating, Jeffcoat Funeral Home directing.Mrs. McNeal is survived by her son, Dr. Bob McNeal; four grandsons, Clay, Jonathon and Allen Clayton of Seneca, Kansas and Mark Clayton of Bloomfield, New Jersey; great granddaughter, Paige Clayton of Seneca, Kansas, and numerous nieces and nephews.She is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Mr. Robert C. McNeal; daughter, Betty McNeal Clayton; parents, John and Alberta Smith; four brothers and one sister.Mrs. McNeal worked with her husband in their car parts and appliance business until 1974, when he retired due to poor health. After that time, she worked as a substitute teacher in the Tallassee School System for a number of years.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alabama Baptist Childrens Home, Post Office Box 361767, Birmingham, Alabama 35236.
