Jeffcoat Funeral Home 255 Friendship Road Tallassee, AL 36078 Tel (334) 283-6801 Mrs. Lillie Taunton Pemberton, a lifelong resident of Tallassee, Alabama, passed away peacefully at her home, Sunday, September 07, 2014, at the age of 95. Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 09, 2014, at 3:30 pm at East Tallassee Church of Christ with Minister Michael McElroy officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Jeffcoat Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Pemberton faithfully served her Lord at the Carrville Church of Christ and the East Tallassee Church of Christ for many decades. She retired from the United States Postal Service and began a career of gardening and attending to the needs of her family, friends and neighbors who will miss her countless contributions. Mrs. Pemberton is survived by her two daughters, Juanita Pemberton Hicks (Chuck) and Brenda Pemberton Price; two sons, Curtis Gilbert Pemberton (Sue) and Bill Norris Pemberton (Janice); nine grandchildren, Clay Hicks (Ronda), Patrick Hicks (Stephanie), Jason Price (Jeannie), Paige Price Roberts (Jeff), Allison Price Coker (Andy), Paul Pemberton (Melinda), Heather Pemberton Belich (Keith), Bradley Pemberton (Ann) and Adam Pemberton (Amanda) and twenty-three great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, Ocie Gilbert Pemberton; parents, Curtis Cleborne and Lillie Norris Taunton; her paternal grandparents, George and Ida Lou Taunton and maternal grandparents, William Preston and Laura Norris; daughter-in-law, Ethel Milner Pemberton and son-in-law, Larry Dean Price. The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 09, 2014, from 2:00 pm until service time at East Tallassee Church of Christ. The grandsons will serve as pallbears. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Mrs. Pemberton’s dedicated and loving caregivers, Joyce Reeves, Judy Peebles, Angela Hughey, Shirley Baker, Janice Mann, Lennie Henderson and to Community Hospice.
