Mrs. Lia Cannon Spain

Jeffcoat Funeral Home 255 Friendship Road Tallassee, AL 36078 Tel (334) 283-6801 Mrs. Lia Cannon Spain, a resident of Tallassee, passed away Sunday, September 24, 2017 at the age of 52. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at 2:00 pm from the East Tallassee Baptist Church, with Rev. Andrew Schmitt officiating. Burial will follow in Carrville Cemetery, Jeffcoat Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Spain is survived by her husband, Robert Spain; children, Daniel Spain, Kelly Andrews, Steven Spain, Pamela Spain, Ashleigh Hughes, Whitney Abrams and Coley Spain; 18 grandchildren; brother, Louis Cannon (Jane); sisters, Linda Curlee (Billy), Lane Stewart (Marty) and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Hoyt and Jean Cannon. Lia was a beloved wife and mother. She was a teacher for more than 20 years, and had a deep love for each of her students. Lia enjoyed spending time with family and friends, scrap booking and spending time with her pets. She had a smile that lit up the room and joy that was contagious. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 27, 2017 from 12:30 pm until service time at the church.
