Jeffcoat Funeral Home 255 Friendship Road Tallassee, AL 36078 Tel (334) 283-6801 Mrs. Johnnie Mae Gilmer, a resident of Tallassee, Alabama, passed away Saturday, December 26, 2015, at the age of 94. She was born October 03, 1921, in Tallapoosa County, Alabama. Johnnie Mae accepted Christ as her Saviour at Reeltown Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as a faithful member, an usher and a member of the choir. She was an awesome person who loved her family and friends. She also was a wonderful caregiver and took on the roll as a mother to her nephew, Robert Porch and her nieces, Dorothy Porch and Alesteen Porch. She is preceded in death by her mother, Mattie Porch; two brothers and four sisters. Mrs. Gilmer is survived by her special nephew, Robert Porch; special niece, Alesteen Porch; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 02, 2016, at 11:00AM from Reeltown Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. M. A. Moss officiating. Burial will follow in Reeltown Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Jeffcoat Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Gilmer will lie in state at the church one hour prior to services.
