Jeffcoat Funeral Home 255 Friendship Road Tallassee, AL 36078 Tel (334) 283-6801 Mrs. Joann Ready, a resident of Montgomery, Alabama and formally of Tallassee, passed away Thursday, June 14, 2018, at the age of 84. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 18, 2018, at 11:00AM from Jeffcoat Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Todd Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Jeffcoat Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Ready is survived by her son, Benjamin Ray “Ben” Ready, Sr.; brother, Harry Hersey Smith (Sue); five grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren with two on the way Smith and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Ray Ready; son, Douglas Randall “Randy” Ready; her parents, Hersey and Kate Smith; siblings, Hixie Smith, Hilda Smith Segrest, Alma Ruth Coleman and Kerby. Mrs. Ready loved her church and her church family with all her heart. She could be found playing her piano and singing her gospel music praising her Lord and Savior at any given time. The family will receive friends Monday, June 18, 2018 from 10:00am until service time at Jeffcoat Funeral Home.
