Jeffcoat Funeral Home 255 Friendship Road Tallassee, AL 36078 Tel (334) 283-6801 Mrs. Joan M. Johnston, a resident of Eclectic, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2015, at the age of 79. Funeral mass will be held Friday, October 30, 2015, at 11:00 am at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Father Charles Troncale officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Eclectic, Alabama, Jeffcoat Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Johnston is survived by her husband, Jack Johnston; two daughters, Susan Phillips (Hal) and Marianne McCay (Danny); six grandchildren, Natalie Betke, Christian Phillips, Olivia Phillips, Andy McCay, David McCay and Sarah McCay; four great grandchildren, Jack Betke, Henry Betke, Ava Betke and Lily Phillips and her two sisters, Catherine Olear and Barbara Westover. She is preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Harry Bogel; brothers, Fred and Harry Bogle, Jr.; sisters, Mary Carlson and Elizabeth Stanek and grandson, Brett Phillips. Joan was a Master Gardener and a member of the sewing club at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be made to your favorite charity.
