Funeral services will be Monday, April 11, 2011, at 11:00am from Carrville Baptist Church with Rev. Lonnie Skinner and Rev. John Carney officiating. Burial will follow in Carrville Cemetery, Jeffcoat Funeral Home directing.Mrs. Darnell is survived by her daughter, Sandra Johnson; sons, Noel Darnell (Cathy) and Robert Darnell; sisters, Barbara Garnett (Dwight), Martha Weldon and Mildred Everage (J. Lee); brother, Charles Uptain (Bobbie); grandchildren, Nick Johnson, David Darnell, Kelly Darnell, Lee Ann Brown and Karen Hammonds and several great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Herman Darnell and her parents, Joseph and Mamie Uptain; brothers, Horace Uptain, Arlin Uptain, Albert Uptain and Lewis Uptain; sisters, Irval Goodman, Willie Jo McHargue and Estelle Morris.Mrs. Darnell was a charter member of Carrville Baptist Church, Tallassee, Alabama.The family will receive friends Sunday evening, April 10, 2011, from 4:00pm until 6:00pm at Carrville Baptist Church.Mrs. Darnell will lie in state at the church one hour prior to services.
