Jeffcoat Funeral Home255 Friendship RoadTallassee, AL 36078Tel (334) 283-6801 Mrs. Eloise (McCaig) Benson of El Dorado, formerly of Stephens, Arkansas died Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at the Timberlane Nursing Home and Rehab Center in El Dorado, Arkansas. She was born December 23, 1920 in Colbert County, Alabama to the late John Mitchell and Murzy Inez (Smelser) McCaig. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until service time at 11:00 am at Jeffcoat Funeral Home Saturday, November 27, 2010 with Jimmie Clay Benson officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery, Jeffcoat Funeral Home directing.Survivors are her son, James Mervin Benson, Jr.; daughter, Bonnie Beth Anderson; sisters, Jean Nunnelly, Bobbie Vaughn, Patsy Britain; grandsons, James M. Benson, III, Joshua Anderson, Jordan Anderson; granddaughters, Dawn Golden, Laura Perry, Misty Anderson; great grandsons, Caleb Benson, Joshua Benson, Parrish Anderson, Joshua Anderson, Jr., Jacob Perry, Wyatt Golden; great granddaughter, Lauren Benson, and Anna Perry. She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter Barbara Ann Bigger; granddaughter Crystal Jo Bigger; three brothers; and four sisters.Eloise taught 4 year old children of migrant workers in San Benito, Texas, many of whom spoke no English. She taught private kindergarten and pre-school in Stephens, Arkansas for many years and her school floats won 1st prize in area Christmas parades.
