Jeffcoat Funeral Home 255 Friendship Road Tallassee, AL 36078 Tel (334) 283-6801 Mrs. Bessie Nadine Taunton, a resident of Tallassee, Alabama, passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2013, at the age of 90. Funeral services will be Friday, November 22, 2013, at 11:00 am from Elam Baptist Church with Rev. Gene Bridgman officiating. Mrs. Taunton will lie in state at the church one hour prior to services. Burial will follow in Beulah Baptist Cemetery, Jeffcoat Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Taunton is survived by her daughter, Gloria Taunton Woodall (Mike); sons, Robert H. “Bob” Taunton (Rosalin) and Dr. Roy Gwen Taunton (Jan); grandchildren, Denice Reid (Lamar), Deana Ellen Butler (fiancé Danny Gray), Leslye Ames (Karl), Tawanna Hussey (Donny), Thomas Wayne Taunton, Michael Douglas Butler, Jonathon Blake Taunton (Jill) and Jeremy Gordy Taunton (Stephanie); 15 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Johnny Hilton “Bill” Taunton; sons, James Albert “Jimmy” Taunton and Billy Wayne Taunton and grandson, James Mark Taunton. Mrs. Taunton was an extraordinary mother and grandmother who loved her family and her church (Elam Baptist) where she was a member for over 60 years.
