She was born April 21, 1935, in Tallassee, Alabama to Jesse and Rosa Harrington. Mrs. Taunton is survived by her sons, Joe Atkins (Brenda), Jon Atkins (Penny): daughter, Jan Smith (Jamie); step children, Cindy Woodall (Jay), Alan Taunton (Gayle); several grandchildren and great grandchildren; brothers, Drew Harrington (Barb), Bobby Ward, daughter-in-law, Londa Atkins and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Taunton; parents, Jesse and Rosa Harrington and son, Jim Atkins. Graveside services will be Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 10:00AM at Rose Hill Cemetery with Elder Mike McGrady officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Community Hospice Care, 1526 Gilmer Ave, Tallassee, Alabama, 36078. Jeffcoat Funeral Home will be in charge of all local arrangements.
