Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 10, 2012, at 2:00pm at Tallaweka Baptist Church, Tallassee, Alabama, with Reverend Isaac Kervin officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Jeffcoat Funeral Home directing. Mr. Bowles is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mrs. Juanita Holloway Bowles; son, William Kim Bowles (Nadine) of Tallassee, Alabama; daughter, Karen Bowles Schmidt (Tom) of Apopka, Florida; grandchildren, Teresa Bright (Jimmy) of Tallassee, Alabama, Courtney Mann (Kevin) of Wetumpka, Alabama, Kimberly Peaden (Ryan) and Dusty Bowles of Tallassee, Alabama, Tommy Schmidt of Boca Raton, Florida and Christina Schmidt of Apopka, Florida; great grandchildren, Meri-Kathryn and Isabella Bright of Tallassee, Alabama, Hallie Kate, Hudson and Avery Jane Mann of Wetumpka, Alabama, Addy Greyce Peaden of Tallassee, Alabama and Eric Bowles of San Diego, California; sister, June Brodzinski of Tallassee, Alabama; brothers, Wilbur G. “Pete” Bowles (Karen) of Sanford, Florida and James Robert “Bobby” Bowles (Joyce) of Tallassee, Alabama. He is preceded in death by his parents, Earnest and Berniece Bowles; son, Russell Dixon Bowles; grandson, Erizen Bowles and brother, John E. Bowles. Mr. Bowles was a charter member of Tallaweka Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for many years. Mr. Bowles owned and operated Bowles Brothers Grocery with his brother, John Bowles, for 51 years. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, United States Navy and National Guard. He also played football for Auburn University and served on the Tallassee Housing Authority.
