Jeffcoat Funeral Home 255 Friendship Road Tallassee, AL 36078 Tel (334) 283-6801 Mr. Walter Edward “Walt” Stringer, Jr., a resident of Lake Martin, Alabama, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2014, at the age of 76. Funeral services will be Thursday, March 20, 2014, at 6:30 pm from Jeffcoat Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Osgood officiating and with Military Honors. Mr. Stringer is survived by his wife of 41 years, Mrs. Janet Stringer; children, David Stringer, Larry Stringer, Jeff Stringer, Barbara S. Flowers (Tommy) and Matthew Stringer (Teresa); nine grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Velma Stringer. Mr. Stringer served in the United States Marine Corps for 22 years. He was a great fisherman and hunter. The family will receive friends Thursday evening, March 20, 2014, from 5:00 pm until service time at Jeffcoat Funeral Home.
