Heavy Rock Stone, born February 13, 1937, and a long time resident of Tallassee and Lake Martin, Alabama, went to be with our Lord on Monday, August 16, 2010, at the age of 73.Funeral services will be Thursday, August 19, 2010, at 11:00am from Jeffcoat Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lonnie Skinner and Rev. Jay Woodall officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 18, 2010, from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Jeffcoat Funeral Home.Mr. Stone is survived by his wife, Mrs. Bettye Stone; sons, Mike Stone (Renee) and Jimmy Stone; four special grandchildren, Samantha, Kristyn, Brad and Ciara Stone; brother, Bernell Stone (Chris); sister-in-law, Frances Kelley and several nieces and nephews.He is preceded in death by his son, William David Little Bill Stone.Mr. Stone spent his younger life coaching young boys the basics of football and baseball and contributing to their overall life in the community.He was an insurance agent in the Tallassee area for over forty years and he was a faithful member of Carrville Baptist Church.Active pallbearers will be Terrell Jones, Marty Stone, Chad Stone, Nick Taunton, Johnathon Baker and Bill Shores.Honorary pallbearers will be David Rhodes, Coach Duane Webster, Lamar Godwin, Charles Garnett, Jerry Golden and Coach Terry Burt.
