Mr. Robert "Bob" Lamar Bowen

Jeffcoat Funeral Home 255 Friendship Road Tallassee, AL 36078 Tel (334) 283-6801 Robert “Bob” Lamar Bowen, a resident of Montgomery, Alabama, passed away January 10, 2022, at the age of 76. He was born September 27, 1945 in Tallassee, Alabama to Pauline and Roy Bowen. He was the oldest of the four ‘Bowen Boys.’ Bob is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mrs. Linda Lytle Bowen, daughter, Anna Bowen Moore (Bill); granddaughters Sarah and Harriet; brothers, Elwyn Bowen, William Bowen (Cindy) and Leon Bowen (Vickie); many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Pauline and Roy Bowen; his sister, Joanne Dopson; brother, Dean Bowen and his son, Scott Bowen. Bob graduated from Tallassee High School and Auburn University. Over the years his work took him all over the country and world. He loved to travel and enjoyed sharing that love with his family. He found a calling teaching the “Men’s Sunday School Class” and valued the friends he made in it at Frazer Memorial United Methodist Church. He will always be remembered for his love of cooking, ice cream and spicy foods, cheering on his Auburn Tigers, making people laugh and his unwavering faith. A visitation will be held Friday, January 14, 2022 from 12:00PM until service time at 1:00PM at Jeffcoat Funeral Home Chapel with Rhon Carleton officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Frazer Memorial United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 241347, Montgomery, AL 36124, or a charity of your choice.
