Mr. Rex Beach Mullins

Mullins, a resident of Montgomery, Alabama (a native of Tallassee, Alabama) passed away Monday, March 18, 2013, at the age of 98. Funeral services will be Thursday, March 21, 2013, at 2:00pm from Jeffcoat Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rhon Carleton officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm until service time. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Jeffcoat Funeral Home directing. Mr. Mullins is survived by his daughter and devoted son-in-law, Donna and Forrest Johnson; grandson, Jonathan Redden; great granddaughter, Allie Byrd; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years, Cathryn C. “Kay” Mullins; parents, Walter and Othella Mullins; sisters, Effie Turner, Irma Miller, Mae O’Daniel, Maude Mullins, Lucille Cottle and Jo Gaither. Mr. Mullins was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He was a World War II Veteran, serving in the United States Coast Guard and he had retired from Protective Life Insurance Company in Birmingham, Alabama. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff and caregivers of John Knox Manor and to Dr. Donald Marshall.
