Jeffcoat Funeral Home 255 Friendship Road Tallassee, AL 36078 Tel (334) 283-6801 Mr. Reid Hornsby, a resident of Tallassee, Alabama, passed away peacefully at his home after an extended illness on Friday, December 14, 2012, at the age of 89. Funeral services will be Sunday, December 16, 2012, at 2:00pm at Tallaweka Baptist Church with Rev. Isaac Kervin and Rev. Jack Stabler officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Jeffcoat Funeral Home directing. Mr. Hornsby is survived by his son, Mark Hornsby (Alicia); granddaughter, Sarah Hornsby; sister-in-law, Bessie Guy (Billy) and several close friends whom he considered family. He is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Mrs. Marguerite Hornsby and his daughter, Reida Sue Hornsby. The family will receive friends Saturday, December 15, 2012, from 3:00pm until 5:00pm at Jeffcoat Funeral Home. Mr. Hornsby will lie in state at the church one hour prior to services.
