He was born August 20, 1940 in Tallassee, Alabama to Elton T. Day and Dorothy Holt Day. A visitation will be held Friday, December 10, 2021, from 10:00AM until service time at 11:00AM at Westside Independent Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Dorley officiating. Burial will follow in Good Hope Cemetery, Jeffcoat Funeral Home directing. Mr. Day is survived by his wife, Marie Day; children, Phillip James Day, Ginger McGinty, Janice Garrett and Dianne Harrelson (Allen); 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; several great, great grandchildren and niece, Donna Poague. He is preceded in death by his two sons, Michael Coggins and John Tommy Day; parents, Elton T. and Dorothy Holt Day, sister, Dorothy Ann (Tan) Bates.
