Jeffcoat Funeral Home 255 Friendship Road Tallassee, AL 36078 Tel (334) 283-6801 Mr. Kermit O. Moore, 98, a resident of Tallassee, Alabama, passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2015. He was born in Jacksons Gap on March 26, 1917. Funeral services will be Saturday, October 31, 2015, at 12:00 noon from Jeffcoat Funeral Home Chapel with Miles Crouch and Mark Parkhurst officiating. Burial will follow in Carrville Cemetery, Jeffcoat Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 30, 2015, from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Jeffcoat Funeral Home. Mr. Moore is survived by his son, Larry Moore (Mary Ellen) of Dadeville, Al.; daughters, Jan Baker of Ava, MO, and Michelle Brazeal (Sean) of Opelika, AL; grandchildren, Jennifer Flamm, Larry T. Moore, Jr., Alita Edeker, Angela Baker, Joey Baker and Heather Lindsey; six great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Mr. Moore is preceded in death by his wife, Frances Moore; parents, Y.O. and Martha Moore and son, Dennis Ray Moore. Kermit was one of the first World War II draftee’s from Tallapoosa County, entering the Army in March 1941. He served with the 9th Infantry Division, 34th Field Artillery Unit and saw action in Northern Africa, Sicily, Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge, Liberation of Paris and Invasion of Germany. After retirement, he enjoyed farming and breaking horses. He was an avid rider and made many friends in this part of the state on trail rides, riding until 96 years of age. He loved his family, friends, neighbors and serving the Lord. He was a faithful member of the Carrville Church of Christ. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial denotations may be made to Pleasant Grove Church of Christ, 1819 Bay Pine Road, Jacksons Gap, Al. 35010.
