Jeffcoat Funeral Home 255 Friendship Road Tallassee, AL 36078 Tel (334) 283-6801 Mr. James H. “Big Jim” Hurston, a resident of Tallassee, Alabama, passed away Saturday, June 23, 2018, at the age of 84. Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at 11:00am from Jeffcoat Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joe Fain and Rev. Neal Kelley officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Jeffcoat Funeral Home directing. Mr. Hurston is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mrs. Doris Hurston; daughter, Lyn Stephens (Tracy); son, Jim Hurston; grandchildren, Christin Taylor (Brandon), Terry “Trey” Davis (Bethany) and Sarah Hurston; great grandchildren, Anni and Kelsie Taylor; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Hurston was a retail grocery owner for many years and served in the United States Army as a Military Policeman.
