Jeffcoat Funeral Home 255 Friendship Road Tallassee, AL 36078 Tel (334) 283-6801 Mr. James “Elige” Coan, a resident of Tallassee, Alabama, passed away Saturday, October 24, 2015, at the age of 75. Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at 11:00 AM from First United Methodist Church, Tallassee with Rev. Dric Williford and Rev. Jay Woodall officiating. Burial will follow in Carrville Cemetery, Jeffcoat Funeral Home directing. Mr. Coan is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mrs. Judy Coan; daughter, Kim Coan Hancock (Bryan); son, Chris Coan (Abby); grandchildren, Jake Coan, Logan Coan, Braxton Hancock and Brady Hancock; sisters, Charlotte Morgan (Forrest), Donna Whitman and Janice Payne; several nieces and loving dog, Rocky. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, James Lowell Coan and Denoliar Perkins and sister, Paulette Coan. Mr. Coan was a member of First United Methodist Church, Tallassee for many years and he was co-owner of Coan and Curry Garage for 25 years. The family will receive friends Monday evening, October 26, 2015, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Jeffcoat Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Elmore County, 255 Central Plank Rd., Wetumpka, Alabama 36092, Montgomery Humane Society, 1150 John Overton Dr., Montgomery, Alabama 36110 or any Humane Society of your choice.
