Todd Smith and Rev. Tim Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Jeffcoat Funeral Home directing.Mr. Garnett is survived by his sons, Danny Garnett (Debra) and Rick Garnett (Barbara); five grandchildren, Brittney Garnett, Laurie Knowles (Steve), Melissa Shouse (Danny), Symantha Murphy and Darren Murphy; seven great grandchildren, Shane, Brooke, Austin, Alayna, Devin, Sophia and Hannah; three brothers, Roy Garnett, Dwight Garnett (Barbara) and Lynwood Garnett (Patsy) and sister, Reba Walls. He is preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Frances Garnett; brother, Lamar Garnett and sister, Beatrice McQueen.Mr. Garnett served in WWII and was employed with Skinners / Home Furniture Store for over 30 years.The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 8, 2011, from 4:00pm until 6:00pm at Jeffcoat Funeral Home.
