Jeffcoat Funeral Home 255 Friendship Road Tallassee, AL 36078 Tel (334) 283-6801 Mr. Emory Allen Peters, Jr., a resident of Tallassee, Alabama, passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2017, at the age of 88. Funeral services will be Friday, October 20, 2017, at 11:30AM from Jeffcoat Funeral Home Chapel with Mike McElroy and Rev. Andrew Schmitt officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Jeffcoat Funeral Home directing. Mr. Peters is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mrs. Willa Dean Peters; daughters, Phyllis Peters Worthington, Birmingham, Alabama and Jan Peters Gunter (Ernest), Smiths Station, Alabama; grandchildren, Ashley Klima (Joe), Allison Boles and Allen Atkins; great grandchildren, Jaxon Boles, Caroline Klima and Olivia Klima and nephew, Steve Moore. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Emory Peters, Sr.; brother, Billy Peters and great grandson, Blaine Atkins. Mr. Peters worked with Mount Vernon Mills for over forty years and retired in 1994. He was a Boy Scouts Leader for several years and an active member of the Brotherhood of East Tallassee Baptist Church. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of Mr. Peters Sunday School Class of East Tallassee Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, 1101 Northchase Parkway, Suite 1, Marietta, Georgia 30067.
