Waites, a resident of Tallassee, Alabama, passed away Thursday, August 11, 2011, at the age of 83.Funeral services will be Saturday, August 13, 2011, at 2:00pm from Jeffcoat Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jay Woodall officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Jeffcoat Funeral Home directing.Mr. Waites is survived by his daughter, Janice Warren (Mike); grandson, Troy Warren; great grandson, Kody Warren; sister, Dot Yates; nieces, Gay Pitts, Cathy Waites and Candice Yates and nephew, Joey Yates.He is preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Helen P. Waites; brothers, Clyde Waites, T. L. Waites and Thurman Waites and sister, Mary Jo Fannin. Mr. Waites was known as being one of the famous football players during the tenure of Tallassee Highs fifty-seven continuous winning games under Coach J.E.
