Jeffcoat Funeral Home 255 Friendship Road Tallassee, AL 36078 Tel (334) 283-6801 Mr. Donald Ray Atkins, a resident of Tallassee, Alabama, passed away Friday, February 9, 2018, at the age of 86. Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 11, 2018, at 2:30pm from Riverside Heights Baptist Church with Mr. Steve Schmitt officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Jeffcoat Funeral Home directing. Mr. Atkins is survived by his daughters, Donna Funderburk (Danny), Kathy Loomis and Tina Dunson (Jeff); grandchildren; Dustin Funderburk (Lauren), Dixie Powers (Matt), Kyle Loomis (Jessica), Kaleb Loomis, Karson Loomis, Andrew Dunson (Savannah) and Mathew Dunson (Hailey); great grandchildren, Riley-Claire Funderburk, Easton Funderburk, Lily-Beth Funderburk and Sawyer Dunson; sisters, Loree Atkins Adams and Vicki Oliver Baker; brother, Billy Atkins and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Peggy Atkins; brother, Bernard Atkins; sister, Julia Mae Mann; son-in-law, Keith Loomis and his parents, W.C. and Irene Atkins. Mr. Atkins was a current member of First Baptist Church of Tallassee and a long time member of Riverside Heights Baptist Church of Tallassee. The family will receive friends from 1:30pm until service time at Riverside Heights Baptist Church.
