Funeral services will be Saturday, February 11, 2012, at 3:00pm at First Baptist Church, Tallassee, with Rev. Derek Gentle officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Jeffcoat Funeral Home directing. Mr. Sides is survived by his wife, Mrs. Janette Lynn Sides; daughters, Catherine Butler (Keith) and Teresa Hutto, all of Tallassee, Alabama, and son, David Louis Sides, Jr. (Steffani) of Eclectic, Alabama; grandchildren, Michael Troy Hilyer (Morgan), David Trent Hilyer and Bryon Kyle Butler, all of Tallassee, Alabama, David Jett Sides of Eclectic, Alabama, Haley Ashton Tunnell of Montgomery, Alabama, Jessica Colby Butler and Kelsey Lynn Butler, both of Tallassee, Alabama; great grandchildren, Jaylin Marie Tunnell of Montgomery, Alabama and Michael Caiden Hilyer of Tallassee, Alabama; sister, Betty Jo Sides Hammock of Tallassee, Alabama; brother-in-law, Cary Lynn of Tallassee, Alabama, and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Sides Tunnell; parents, Nelson and Annie Ruth Sides and his sister, Doris Sides Nunnelly. Active pallbearers will be Troy Hilyer, Trent Hilyer, Kyle Butler, Sherman Lamberth, Fred Sides and Dennis Hill.
