Hilyer, Sr., a resident of Tallassee, Alabama, passed away Thursday, October 20, 2011, at the age of 76.Funeral services will be Sunday, October 23, 2011, at 2:00pm at Mt. Olive Community Church, Tallassee, Alabama, with Rev. Daniel Bridgman and Rev. Rick Dorley officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Jeffcoat Funeral Home directing.Charles is survived by his wife of 56 years, Yvonne Buce Hilyer; daughter, Cindy Hilyer Johnson (Rodney); sons, Wess Hilyer (Linda), Mike Hilyer (Kathy) and Craig Hilyer (Melanie); daughter, Tina Hilyer Graham; brother, Wendell Hilyer (Becky); grandchildren, Dana Haynes, Dustin Haynes, Stephanie Martin, C.W. Hilyer, Cole Hilyer, Troy Hilyer, Trent Hilyer, Brett Hilyer, Kelly Sanders, Kaleb Graham, McKenzie Bullard and Brandi Roop; seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.He is preceded in death by his parents, Ottis and Lorene Dunson Hilyer; sister, Opal Dean Hilyer Pollard and his granddaughter, Kristin Nicole Sanders.Mr. Hilyer established and owned Hilyer Auto Parts Company in Tallassee since 1962. He also served in the Alabama National Guard for several years and he was an active member and deacon of Mt. Olive Community Church for many years.Charles was a loving husband, father and grandfather, provider for his family and cherished friend to everyone. He will be missed by everyone.The family will receive friends Saturday, October 22, 2011, from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at Jeffcoat Funeral Home.Memorial contributions may be made to Mt.
