Mr. Charles Kenneth Totty

Jeffcoat Funeral Home 255 Friendship Road Tallassee, AL 36078 Tel (334) 283-6801 Mr. Charles Kenneth Totty, a lifelong resident of Tallassee, Alabama, passed away after a brief illness, Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at the age of 84. Funeral services will be Thursday, May 02, 2013, at 11:00am from Jeffcoat Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Buchanan officiating. Mr. Totty is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mrs. Carolyn Dunn Totty; daughter, Cheryl Totty of Duluth, Ga.; sister, Emily Totty Rutledge (Maurice); numerous nieces, nephews, many friends and his two beloved dogs. Charles graduated from Tallassee High School and shortly afterwards, answered the draft for the U.S. Army, where he ended his service as Corporal. Returning from military service, he began working at Mt. Vernon Mills, where he worked for almost 30 years. He then worked at Neptune Meter Company until his retirement. He was an avid sportsman in hunting and fishing and enjoyed taking care of his yard. Mr. Totty was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Charles is preceded in death by his daughter, Cynthia Joy Totty, parents, William Jefferson and Nettie Gertrude Strength Totty and several brothers, sisters and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Friendship Baptist Church, 4345 Friendship Road, Tallassee, Alabama 36078. The family will receive friends Thursday, May 2, 2013, from 10:00am until service time.
