Mr. Charles Harry 'Boodie' Pemberton

Jeffcoat Funeral Home 255 Friendship Road Tallassee, AL 36078 Tel (334) 283-6801 Mr. Charles Harry “Boodie” Pemberton, 81, a resident of Tallassee, Alabama, passed away Saturday, October 20, 2012, at his home. Funeral services will be Monday, October 22, 2012, at 2:00pm at Jeffcoat Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Robert Pemberton and Mr. Randall Roy Pemberton officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Mr. Pemberton is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mrs. Barbara Garnett Pemberton; daughter, Vickie Pemberton Desarro; grandsons, Lee Mason Burton, Patrick Cary Desarro and Brian Stephen Desarro; great grandsons, Baxlee Lawrence Burton and Brooks Bell Burton; brothers, Jimmie Lee Pemberton, Jr. and Dr. Roy Robert Pemberton; sisters, Mary Francis Daniels and Myrtle Ruth Mason. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jimmie Lee Pemberton, Sr. and Effie Crepps Pemberton; son, Lawrence Jackson Burton and sister, Betty Barker. Mr. Pemberton served in the United States Air Force and the Air National Guard during the Korean War. He was the owner of Southeastern Insurance Agency in Tallassee and later retired from Southern Company. Mr. Pemberton was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church in Tallassee and he was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf. The family will receive friends Monday, October 22, 2012, from 12:30pm until service time at Jeffcoat Funeral Home.
