Charles Edward Taylor walked and lived an extraordinary life, and was a good servant of the Lord! He was born and raised in Halo, Ga. At the age of 17, our much loved father, grandfather, brother and friend, began his military career in the United States Army, serving as a combat medic in the Korean War. He later transferred from the Army to the United States Air Force where he served in Vietnam as Air Medivac Technician. He retired from the United States Air Force as a decorated soldier with many accomplishments including receiving the Purple Heart for being wounded in Korea and earning a combat Medical Badge with many other accommodations. He then moved to Eufaula, Alabama where he owned a furniture store with his two sons. After selling the business he continued working in sales until he retired and moved to Tallassee. He was an active member of Tallaweka Baptist Church where he loved and served the Lord in many of their Christian ministries. He excelled not only in his military career and Christian journey but also as a family man. He has always loved and treasured his family. He enjoyed and attended his grandchildren’s various sporting events and hunting with his sons. He was a wonderful man who will be greatly missed by all of us that knew and loved him. The family will receive friends, Saturday, February 25, 2017, from 12:30 until service time at Tallaweka Baptist Church. Online condolences are available at: www.jeffcoatfuneralhome.com.
