Jeffcoat Funeral Home 255 Friendship Road Tallassee, AL 36078 Tel (334) 283-6801 Mr. Clarence D. “Buddy” Lott, a lifelong resident of Kent, Alabama, went home to be with the Lord and to be reunited with his beloved parents on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at the age of 79. Funeral services will be Saturday, September 09, 2017, at 11:00AM from Providence Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Mike McGrady and Rev. Faron Golden officiating. Burial will follow in Providence Primitive Baptist Cemetery, Jeffcoat Funeral Home directing. Buddy is survived by his wife, Mrs. Pat Lott; children, Sherri Mann, Vanessa Rhodes (Danny), Mona Kabel (Jason), Donnie Lott (Bit), Billy Lott (Dorothy), Laura Taylor (Stacy) and P.J. Duke (Jimmy); grandchildren, Shannon, Travis, Amanda, Emily, Jason, Nathan, Raegen, Alyssa, Michaela, Tatum; great grandchildren, Mason, Kayleigh, Anabel, John Harper, Jack, Rhodes, Madisyn, Natalie, Trent, Zack and his beloved grand dog, Kent; sister, Mary Vann Robertson “Sister Lott” and several nieces and nephews and a lot of friends who loved him dearly. He is preceded in death by his parents, Buck Lott and Lucille Yates Lott; brother, Joe (Sonny) Lott. He loved life and his family. He was always a pillar of strength who worked hard to provide for his family all the way to the end. He was an example of perseverance, not just to his children and grandchildren but also to his community. Buddy was a gifted farmer. He had knowledge and interest in all types of farming, but his true love was dairy farming. He was a servant of God that didn’t keep his talents to himself. He loved to share his knowledge of growing and harvesting crops and cattle. He was also a farm equipment mechanic that could work wonders with a ball-peen hammer. Buddy loved his community. He said over and over that he lived in God’s country. He served on the board of the Kent Community Park working to improve the ball field and community center. He received great joy participating in the community events providing horse and buggy rides. God blessed him with a storied life. He loved to tell stories of his childhood, such as when he helped his dad move mules from a train car through the streets of Dadeville to the mule barn, he jumped off of a tractor and chased down a rabbit (story confirmed), he won a FFA tractor driving contest, as a young boy he drove his dad’s new tractor from Jordanville to the farm in Kent much to the surprise of his mother, and how he jumped out of the barn onto a mule’s back which didn’t end well. Words on a page just can’t convey the type of man he was, but those who knew him well and watched him keep digging even as his health was failing, know our loss is Heavens gain. The family will receive friends Saturday, September 09, 2017, from 9:30AM until service time.
