Funeral services will be held Friday, July 31, 2020 at 1:00 PM at First Baptist Church, Tallassee, Alabama, with Rev. Derek Gentle officiating, Jeffcoat Funeral Home directing. Mr. Smithson is survived by his wife of 19 years, Aleta Smithson; sons, Christopher Wayne Smithson (Heather), Bo Smithson; daughters, Tiffany Knight (Andy), Kayla Schwartz (Wes); eight grandchildren, Emma, Aubrey and Charlee Smithson, Caleb, Andrew and Noah Knight, Betty and Otto Schwartz; sister, Beth Nichols (Robert, Jr.); mother, Mary Elizabeth Smithson; nephews, Robbie Smithson and Burt Nichols and his niece, Andrea Gilley (Darren). He is preceded in death by his father, Herman Smithson and a brother, Glenn Smithson.
