Jeffcoat Funeral Home255 Friendship RoadTallassee, AL 36078Tel (334) 283-6801 Mr. Arthur Noble Holloway, artist, historian and genealogist, passed away Saturday, October 02, 2010, at his home in Huntsville, Alabama, at the age of 86.He was the son of Hosea Sellers Holloway and Mary Alice Noble Holloway and the grandson of Arthur Sanford Noble and Kate Patterson Noble and William Henry Holloway and Olivia Sellers Holloway.Graveside Services will be Tuesday, October 05, 2010, at 1:00pm from Rose Hill Cemetery with Rev. David Barkalow officiating, Jeffcoat Funeral Home directing.Mr. Holloway is survived by his nieces, Mary Alice W. Naylor, Kate Noble W. Shaver, Ree Holloway, Jean H. Nummy and Stephanie H. Hunt and fourteen great nieces and nephews.He is preceded in death by his brother, Dr. H. Sellers Holloway; sisters, Kate Noble Holloway Walker and Jean Holloway Lyda and one niece, Barbara Holloway Carmack.Mr. Holloway grew up in Tallassee, Alabama, and was educated at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta, Georgia. After years of design work in Atlanta, Pensacola, Augusta and Biloxi, he returned to Tallassee and designed the coat of arms for the city of Tallassee. He was also very instrumental in the restoration of the Patterson Cabin in Carrville, the original homeplace of his Patterson ancestors.In 1993, Mr. Holloway moved to Tuscaloosa where he resided until he moved to Huntsville in 2003.Online condolences available: www.jeffcoatfuneralhome.com.
