Jeffcoat Funeral Home 255 Friendship Road Tallassee, AL 36078 Tel (334) 283-6801 Mr. Alton Slay, a resident of Rock Springs Community, passed away Saturday, November 01, 2014, at the age of 82. Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 04, 2014, at 2:30pm at Rock Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Dale Barnes officiating. Burial will follow in Rock Springs Baptist Cemetery, Jeffcoat Funeral Home directing. Mr. Slay is survived by his son, Winston Slay (Kathy); daughter, Carol Garnett (Richard); grandchildren, David Slay (Andrea), Corey Slay, Andrew Garnett (Jessie), Alison Garnett, Jason Simms (Valerie), Jenny Cooper, Janie Martin (Dale) and Angel Pennington (Donnie); numerous great grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Frances Treadwell; several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Frances Davis Slay. Mr. Slay was a longtime member of Rock Springs Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to one’s favorite charity. The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 04, from 1:30pm until service time at Rock Springs Baptist Church.
