With profound sorrow and loving remembrance, we mark the passing of Leon C King, Jr., who departed this life on August 4, 2026, at the age of 57. Born on July 1, 1969, in Highland Park, Michigan, Leon’s journey was one marked by devotion, kindness, and steadfast generosity—a legacy that resounds in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him.

Leon’s spirit was gentle yet unwavering, a man whose constancy and care uplifted those around him. To his beloved wife, Tammi B. King, Leon was not merely a partner but a soulmate, and their shared devotion was evident to all. Above all, Leon’s love for Tammi illuminated his daily life and was a source of enduring strength for their family.

He was the proud and present father of Victoria Richard (Daryl), Jason King, and Jessie King, whom he cherished deeply. As a provider, Leon’s dedication to ensuring his family’s comfort and needs were met was the guiding principle of his days; his acts of care, both big and small, stand as a testament to his character.

To his treasured granddaughters, Izabella Richard and Amelia Richard, affectionately known to them as “Pa,” Leon was a figure of warmth and delight. Their laughter together, the moments shared, and the wisdom imparted will echo in their memories and shape their futures. Family was Leon’s joy, a source of immeasurable pride, and his devotion was boundless.

He is preceded in death by his son, Chris King; parents, Leon C King, Sr. and Lola Woodward King and brother, Jaseon King.

Those close to Leon knew him as a man with great passions beyond family. He was an avid fan of everything related to “Star Wars” and was a devoted supporter of the Detroit Lions, always ready for spirited conversation about his favorite team. These interests were a source of camaraderie and lightness for Leon, providing shared moments with friends and relatives alike.

His life, though cut short, was lived with intention and heart. Kindness, above all, defined Leon—a man whose gentle words, patient presence, and readiness to help made an indelible impression on those who encountered him.

A visitation honoring Leon’s memory will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Jeffcoat Funeral Home, 255 Friendship Road, Tallassee, Alabama. The memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. under the gentle guidance of Rev. Jay Woodall.

Though the loss of Leon C King, Jr. leaves a tender void, his kindness, love, and unwavering dedication continue to inspire those he leaves behind. As we mourn his passing, we also celebrate the lasting gifts of his life—a family cared for, friends enriched, and a legacy defined by wholehearted generosity and love.
